Reasons for the treaty- essay

Introduction
In 1830 there were  100,000 Māori and 200 Europeans living in New Zealand. The behaviour of the Whalers, the Missionaries’ desire to help protect Māori rights and the Musket Wars were reasons that a treaty was needed. The Declaration of Independence was another contributing factor to the need for a treaty.

The whalers with their lawless behaviour introduced problems leading towards a need for a treaty. They would spread problems that would annoy the locals of New Zealand or even spread diseases. Rules were needed to either prevent this or reduce these problems. They would arrive and then drink and get into fights. There drunkeness lead to fights, criminal behaviour and often the use of young Maori women for sex. To control this behaviour it was thought a treaty should be created.

Another reason that a treaty was needed was to protect Māori rights. One group that felt strongly about this was the missionaries. The relationship between the Maori and the missionaries was good. The Maori started getting education allowing them to advance their culture. The missionaries assist them. Missionaries wanted the maori to advance their culture.

Another reason that a treaty was needed was the Musket Wars. In the musket war 20,00 people were killed. The Maori had to trade resources for muskets. The power had changed between the Maori. The treaty was really needed to control the power and the use of muskets wars. Muskets wars change New Zealand's power,Authority and the population.

The final reason that a treaty was needed was the existence of the Declaration of Independence. The treaty was needed to stop the musket war and control the power and authorities.

Conclusion

In conclusion, a treaty was needed because the war was getting out of hand.

scince- Ulawun

In science I'm recaching about volcanoes and how they form or how many people died.

Questions.

1.How do volcanoes form?

Deep inside the earth, heat and pressure change cause rock to melt. This is slowly forced
upwards toward the earth surface. After many, many year of this process, magma reaches
the surface and flow out throw an opening called a vent. As the lava flows out and cools
it forms igneous rock around the vent. The steep walled depression around the volcanos
vent is the crater.

2. Where.

The volcano is in Papua new guinea

3. When did it last erupt.

The volcano last erupt in 2019.

4. Damage

It killed 10,000 people and it destroy a lot of houses and more.

1. Stories, myths

social study- pyramids research

In social studies we are learning about pyramids on how they are built and why they are built.

During Egypt times they discovered Mathematics, Paper and Writing. I think these discoveries helped them build pyramids especially maths. Geometry is what we use for shapes today but they could've also applied that to pyramids. Maths is something important the Egyptians discovered that has been used to this day that help them and us.

Pyramids were built with the help of lots of people and using technology during their time. Pyramids were built on stone and limestone. People back then had to carry heavy stones and separate stones. They also made technology that we have today but in a way we can't understand.

English - Essay Pre-Plannin

For English we've have been doing a sort of reflection on the book Children of Blood and Bone. We've been given some questions to answer.

1. What is going to be my 'key event'?

My key event was the solstice where they had to bring magic back.

2. Who is going to be my 'important character'?

Zelie is my important character because she has a really important job that she can't fail

3. What are 3 ways the character changed as a result of this event?

My character changed from being afraid to mad - When her father dies.

My character changed from being hopeless to ambitious - When she gets her magic back again giving her chance to fight back

My character changed from being accompanied to being alone - When she feels accompanied with the help of her mercenaries and friends until one of her family member dies again.

science

Aim: To observe a neutralisation reaction.

Equipment: A test tube, test tube rack, 1 moL L-1 Na2CO3 (Sodium Carbonate), 1 mol L-1 HCI (Hydrochloric Acid), dropper or dropper bottle, (Universal indicator solution.

Method

Add approximately 1-2 mL of Na2CO3 and place the test tube into the test tube rack. Add 3-5 drops of Universal Indicator solution.

Using a dropper bottle, add HCI drop by drop. Be careful because adding even a small amount of extra acid can mean you'll miss the neutralisation point.

Discussion: What happened was we used substances then use universal indicator solution in the substances to see the colours to tell if it was basic or acid.

Conclusion: It was cool and it worked cause we saw lots of colours

Science

science experience
Aim: To make acid-base indicator using everyday substance

Method: Chop the cabbage into small pieces until you have enough to fill 2 cups.

Place the cabbage in a large beaker and add water to cover the cabbage.

Boil over a Bunsen burner for at least ten minutes for the colour to leach out of the cabbage.

Filter out the plant material to obtain a red-purple-bluish coloured liquid. This liquid is about pH 7. (The exact colour you get depends on the pH of the water.)

Place in a small beaker and lave to one side.

Repeat this method for the beetroot.

Discussion: I think what happened was we used the cabbage which was the indicator then use a squeeze thing or a pipette then we took a bit of the cabbage then put it on the other items such as tea and turmeric.

Conclusion: It worked

The power of one

A long shot can be used to introduce the scene. In this scene, we can see an officer with a baton by his side in the foreground while seeing Geel Piet, doc and Pk standing in the doorway as well as some other blacks in the background. The director's purpose of this shot is to show that the guard does not like Geel Piet and the others. This scene has an effect on the audience, it makes them feel sorry and a little scared for Geel Piet. We can link this to another scene in the movie where Sgt, Botha raids the boxing gym and beats up Pk trainer, this scene also makes us feel scared.

Health - Introduction

Introduction
Health class is where we learn about various subjects that include well being or personal life. Our first subject is about Taha Wairua which is a house built out of 4 well beings; Spiritual, Physical, Mental and Social. Currently we are working on spiritual well being.

Spiritual Wellbeing
This task is to explain what we've learnt about spiritual wellbeing and how spiritual well being relates to me.

We've learnt about how beliefs or personal beliefs can affect our life whether good or bad. I personally don't have major beliefs other than birthdays or holidays. We also learnt about who are really are but doing surveys that gives us our personal strengths, values and weaknesses. My spiritual well being isn't much but I think it's enough for me because my culture doesn't have much difference to anyone other than language and appearance.

Personal Values Activity
This is a activity where I discuss what I think my two most important personal values are. As you can see I like to improve at whatever.

Identity Photo
This is a task where we had to draw something that represents us and write on the outside what do you think that relates to you.
The Sticky notes are 5 things from the list you wrote that you think represents you the most.

Social - Child Labour Paragraph

Child labour paragraph was a thing we had to do and this is my paragraph.

Children working in slave labour don't have access to human rights such as education because they have to work constantly to survive. Children have to work everyday to earn money for food and the amount of money they get is minimal. Children have to work in farming, mining and more. These types of jobs can put them in harm and even if they get education their jobs will interfere with their access to education. Children won't have or have minimal access to education because they are struggling to survive.

Social - Child Labour Map

In social science I have being working on child labour. It was about the worst countries of child labour and I did it on my maps.

I worked with my friend Jason
